My woodcuts are a traditional Oriental Media. After designing them, the image is transferred and hand carved on solid wood blocks, preferably American Linden. They are inked with a roller and then printed on hand made Oriental papers. These were printed on Chire Kozo, which is a mulberry based paper. I use the traditional baron method to transfer the ink to the paper. I also sign my name with the red chops. The top chop is my name in Chinese. The bottom chop says I draw birds and animals. If you look closely you will see a bird character.
My subject matter includes birds and fish. The images are strong but pleasant and tranquil. I do not concentrate on Oriental designs for the woodcuts but they do have an Oriental effect.
